Theater 205: GHOST LIGHT
Synopsis:
Two television writers are using the stage of a vacant theatre as a workspace. Their intense working activity is repeatedly interrupted by the multiple appearances of a mysterious woman and the building’s stage manager. All the while, the theatre’s ghost light fizzles on and off.

Peter Sands is the playwright. He is a member of the Playwright Director Unit at the Actors Studio in New York City. His plays include Nostradamus and the King, The Gate, and Just South of Here. He founded VisionFire Films with his wife, Anna Simone Scott. They received a Daytime Emmy® nomination for Take My Heart.

Severina Mijan
Severina Mijan is an emerging director and multidisciplinary storyteller with a BFA in Film from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas. Her experience spans theatre and film, including directing, acting, writing, producing, set construction, and more. Several short films she has written, produced, and directed received awards during her time at UNLV, and she has been mentored by directors Julie Anne Robinson and David Mackenzie. Severina’s interests extend across a wide range of character-driven stories exploring identity, relationships, and the complexities of human connection. She recently joined the Open-Door Playhouse team, where she is excited to explore the creative possibilities of audio theatre.

Caitlin Bell as Girl
Caitlin Laurie Bell has been enchanted with theater since she was a little girl. She has played many roles, some of her favorites being Pamela (The 39 Steps), The Angel (Angels in America) and Dottie(Chains of Dew). Caitlin is also the Executive Director for Anthem Theater Company that debuted at the 2016 Fringe Festival in Salt Lake. Caitlin would like to thank her parents for always encouraging her dreams and her husband for being the biggest supporter of her goals.

David Andrew Calvillo as Guy
David Andrew Calvillo is an American actor born and raised in the San Fernando Valley.
After attending the American Musical and Dramatic Academy in Los Angeles and New York, he landed a recurring role as ‘Gerard’ in season four of Netflix’s global hit ‘Never Have I Ever’ (2023).
He can also be seen on the Apple TV+ series ‘Platonic’ (2023), starring alongside Rose Byrne, and the MAX/Starz 70’s period comedy ‘Minx’ (2022).
His upcoming projects include the highly anticipated Mythic Quest spinoff ‘Mere Mortals’ and season three of ‘Loot’ on Apple TV+, as well as Hulu/FX’s ‘Interior Chinatown’ (executive produced by Taika Watiti), and the Emmy award-winning MAX comedy ‘Hacks’ (starring alongside Jean Smart).
When not acting, David spends his days writing for television, film, and stage. In 2019 David workshopped his original play “Texture”, producing a sold out limited run of performances.
On his off time David enjoys spending time singing and playing on his guitar and ukulele.

Gabriela Perrelli as Woman
Gabriela Perrelli is a Los Angeles-based actor with a passion for stories that make people feel seen. She recently earned her Bachelor of Arts in Theatre from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas, with additional studies at the University of Nevada, Reno. Her craft is defined by a commitment to truthful storytelling, and she thrives when collaborating with like-minded creatives.
With the help of her peers at UNLV, Gabriela recently wrote, directed, produced, designed, and performed in her own one-act play, Mind Over Mindy. She also played the lead in the short film Tamara, which won the Most Outstanding Female Story award sponsored by the Nevada Women’s Film Festival.
Gabriela brings a uniquely versatile approach to every role and continues to train in Los Angeles as she builds her professional career.
