Synopsis:
Miriam anxiously waits to meet her new man; her dating app has confirmed he is a 99.9% match. Her heart jumps a beat as he enters the room and walks toward her.

Jeff Perlman served two terms as the Mayor of Delray Beach, Florida. He was subsequently the Chief Operating Officer of Celsius, the energy drink company. Then, he pivoted to philanthropy, as the Executive Director of the Carl Angus DeSantis Foundation. His many previous plays include The Café on Min, 2 A.M. Battle Creek, Say My Name, Visits with Libby, The Ferryman of Moose Lake, No Getting Over You, and more.

Bernadette Armstrong moved to Los Angeles to work in film in the late 1990’s and after her first two films went to festivals she took a short hiatus from writing until she fell in love with small theater. Since 2008 she has had several successful theater projects produced in North Hollywood. Her play The Reading Group was named Pick of the Week by LA Weekly Magazine and in 2017 her play Simple Lives was nominated for Outstanding Writing of an Original Play or Musical by the Valley Theater Awards (the only woman nominated).

Selected acting credits include The Comedy of Errors (Oregon Shakespeare Festival, Portland), Unseen Shepherd (Edinburgh Fringe Festival - The Space on the Mile), Tir Na nOg (The Magic Theatre, San Francisco), Unfinished American Highwayscape’s, 9 and 32, Mother Courage and Her Children, and Tartuffe (theatre@Boston Court, Pasadena), Oscar (The Kennedy Center, Washington D.C.), and most recently, Once (Rubicon Theatre, Ventura), among others. He is a member of Theatre Banshee in Burbank. Recent films include Mistake (currently making the rounds at a film festival near you), The Whisperer in Darkness and Something Strange.
Matt received his education and training from The California Institute of the Arts. And, when not acting, Matt can be heard playing flute, Irish penny whistle, harmonica, and mandolin for the bands Slugger O Toole and The Johnny Come Latelys. Matt is a member of AEA and SAG/AFTRA.

Goreti da Silva as Miriam
Since moving to Los Angeles from Canada, Goreti da Silva has worked in many films, tv programs, theatre, and improv shows. Most recently, you may have seen her on Big Little Lies, a Toyota commercial, or heard her voice in one of many radio plays on Opendoorplayhouse.org.
Goreti was awarded The Michael Grossman Most Inspirational Award for her body of theatre work in the Desert, and she won the Valley Theatre Award for her work in “Park Plays: Portland”.
When not performing, Goreti fills her "well" by teaching Improv, Theatre Arts, Playwriting, and Acting to underserved youth who write plays in which they later perform. Though Goreti has produced and directed dozens of plays, she continues to be surprised, delighted and inspired by our next generation of leaders.

Natalie Venturi as Jess
Natalie Venturi is an actor, director, writer, and executive performance coach who brings equal parts heart, humor, and commanding presence to everything she creates. Broken Shells is her playwriting debut in which she also directs and plays Anna. Her acting credits include the award-winning film The Harvey Girl from Shanghai, in which she played a drunk-but-lovable talk-show sidekick, and The Resurrection of Serious Rogers, where she delivered a chilling turn as a vindictive U.S. senator. Recent theatre role was playing Jesse in the Lynn Nottage Pulitzer Prize-winning play, Sweat, produced by The Long Beach Playhouse.
