Synopsis

A man is exceptionally devoted to his mother...much to the chagrin of his wife. No spoilers here, but a diamond is involved.

Mimi Kmet has directed several short plays, including Matriarch, an Open-Door Playhouse production that she wrote. She also wrote and directed Leap and Fence, which were produced at Theatre West, where she is a company member. In addition, she has performed in a variety of original plays, short films and cabarets and has written and performed stand-up comedy. Besides Theatre West, Mimi is also a member of The Group Rep.

Grey Gable (Woman 1)

Grey is a Texas native and company member of Theatre West. She holds an MFA in Performing Arts from SCAD and a BA in Theatre from Centenary College of Louisiana. As a Meisner-trained actor, she received a Graduate Dean’s Fellowship (2020-2022) and an Irene Ryan Acting Nomination from the Kennedy Center American College Theatre Festival (2019). Recent credits include Babbette in The Trick at Theatre 68 and Dara in the 2022 short film Awake. Grey is a relative of Old Hollywood icon Clark Gable.

David Baer (Arthur)

David Baer is a member of Theatre West, where he has participated as an actor, assistant stage manager and house manager. David enjoys volunteering and participating in the life of Theatre West. Thank you to Mimi for inviting me to participate in this production.

Ashley Taylor (Woman 2)

Ashley is an award-winning actor and writer, as well as being a director, producer, and scenic designer/artist. (Before you get too jealous of her many talents, please note that she can’t sing or dance, has asthma, and is very clumsy. Now you feel better!) Though she’s been involved in one kajillion* shows, her recent roles include Annie in The Play that Goes Wrong, Soccer Mom in The Wolves (actor/asst. director), Ann in At Home at the Zoo (actor/co-director), Jennifer in Amateurs and Andromache in The Real Housewives of Troy. When she’s not at the theatre, she loves spending time with the permanent castmates of her real-life comedy, Stephen and Killian.
